Ecological Volunteering and Learning with One Regeneration

Experiential learning and projects in the Caribbean and Latin America
We welcome people who want to learn through practice and service. Many people in our wider team and network first connected with us through courses, volunteer days, or projects.
Who is this for? People who want to embody an ecological practice and learn from the realities of their environment: changing weather, local materials, team rhythms, problem-solving, and interpersonal relationships.
Ways to participate in regenerative practice:
-
Join an active season
-
Join a project
-
Join volunteer days
-
Propose a placement or collaboration

We don't have openings year-round. We offers experiential learning during our active seasons and based on our team’s capacity to support people well.
Join us during an active season
One Regeneration works in active seasons. During these periods, we may be hosting learning experiences, supporting projects, running events, creating content, and documenting work. These are times of heightened practice and learning.
Active seasons can be ideal opportunities for people seeking deeper field experience. They can last for several months, and participants may join us for shorter cycles within that season. We often travel between different locations, and sometimes between countries. A typical participation window could last 1–3 weeks, depending on the context. It may be longer.
During an active season, people may help with practical work, logistics, documentation, research, events, natural building, land-based work, or general project support. Accommodation may be available depending on the site, with details discussed case by case.
Priority is often given to people who have already joined a One Regeneration course, project, or activity.

Join a project
Some people may join a live project and follow the rhythm of that project more closely. This can be good for people who want to build practical proficiency, contribute to a defined effort, and participate beyond casual volunteering.
Project participation depends on the project, the relationship, the skills needed, and the team’s capacity. Casual drop-in participation is usually not suitable for project work. People seeking lighter engagement should join a volunteer day instead.

Join a volunteer day
Volunteer days can be a great option for people who want a casual, low-commitment way to connect. These may include practical site work, preparation, event support, garden or land-based tasks, natural building work, or other hands-on activities.

Propose a placement or collaboration
Anyone (including students, professionals, and community members) may reach out with a proposal. This works best when you have a clear learning goal, relevant skills, flexible timing, and a realistic understanding that opportunities depend on season, site, funding, and team capacity.
Research partnerships may require a more structured process.
What participants may do
The work depends entirely on the season, site, and project. Typical activities may include physical work on-site, natural building, land-based tasks, photography or videography, mapping, writing, research, event support, and coordination.
The value is in immersion. Participants practice alongside us, share in the challenges, and learn how regenerative work moves from idea to action.
Costs and practical responsibilities
Participants should expect to cover their own travel, food, and personal expenses. In some cases, One Regeneration or a host site may help arrange accommodation, local transport, meals, or other support. These services may carry costs, which are discussed case by case.
Paid roles may arise during funded projects, but they are not guaranteed. Many people who later work with One Regeneration first connect through courses, volunteer opportunities, or project-based participation.
What we look for
These opportunities work best for people who are reliable, communicative, open to practical work, respectful, and ready to practice. Participants should be able to take responsibility for their own logistics, wellbeing, and limits.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
What ecological volunteer opportunities does One Regeneration offer?
Opportunities depend on the season, site, and project. They may include natural building, land-based work, event support, documentation, photography or videography, mapping, writing, research, logistics, and coordination.
Can I volunteer with One Regeneration in the Caribbean or Latin America?
Yes, when we have an active season, live project, or volunteer day that can support participation. One Regeneration’s work often moves through different sites, communities, and countries, so availability changes throughout the year.
Can participants live on regenerative sites?
Sometimes. Accommodation may be available depending on the site, host, season, and length of stay. In some cases, One Regeneration or a host site may help arrange accommodation, local transport, meals, or other support. Costs are discussed case by case.
Do you offer natural building or permaculture volunteer opportunities?
Yes, sometimes. Many of our field learning opportunities involve natural building, ecological design, land-based work, or project support connected to regenerative practice. The exact activities depend on what is active at the time.
Are these internships or paid roles?
Most opportunities are experiential learning, volunteer learning, project participation, or service-based learning. Paid roles may arise during funded projects, but they are not guaranteed.
How do I find out when volunteer days are available?
Check our Courses & Events page, join the One Regeneration mailing list, or contact us directly to let us know your interest. We can send early notifications when volunteer days are coming up.
