These breadfruit flour spinners or dumplings are a great way to try breadfruit flour.


  • Breadfruit flour 1/2 cup 

  • Rolled oats 1/4 cup 

  • Veggie broth or water 1/2 cup or more 

  • Sea salt 1/4 tsp 

  • Annatto sauce 1-2 tbsp (optional)


  1. Place flour, oats and salt into a bowl .

  2. Gradually mix broth/water/sauce with dry ingredients. Form a soft dough. Add more oats or flour as needed. Let sit 5 min.

  3. When soup or stew is almost done, wet fingers and quickly shape tablespoons of dough into balls or spinners. Drop into simmering soup or stew. 

  4. Stir gently. Cook 5 minutes or until dumplings are firm and stew is thickened.

This recipe can be made with or without annatto but it added more colour and more nutrients to the recipe.
