These breadfruit flour dinner rolls are the perfect compliment to soups and porridge.


  • breadfruit flour (1 cup)

  • bread or counter flour 1 cup 

  • warm water 1 cup 

  • cup oil 1/4 

  • sugar 1 tbsp 

  • yeast 1 tbsp 

  • salt 1 dash 


  1. Add sugar and yeast to a large jar with the warm water. Loosely cover and set aside.

  2. In a bowl, mix the flours and salt.

  3. Once the yeast has risen, add the mixture to a large bowl and slowly add the flour mixture, stirring as you go.

  4. Knead until it comes together in a dough, then rub in oil, cover and set aside to rise.

  5. After an hour, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and cut into four pieces. Knead slightly, form into balls, and flatten slightly.

  6. Place on an oiled and floured baking dish and set to rise for 20 minutes.

  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 250°C for 30 minutes. You can use this recipe to make bread. Just leave the dough whole and place in a bread pan to bake.

This recipe produces a heavier bread than plain wheat as breadfruit is a heavier flour.
