Omi Devi: Earthen Dam at GWG Research Centre

Students of Evergreen University through the Bittersweet Programme during the PCD Course collaboration with GWG Farms, built an earthbag dam water catchement system to move water to the processing house. Students mapped and implimented earthbag techonlogy and design in creating walls of compacted earth to form walls of the dam.

Sealing bags with cob to be lime plastered. With clay harvested from the river on site, sand and fibers (coir, african star grass) were added to make cob which was then applied to dam as a base coat
