Project Details
This outdoor bathroom and shower made of clay is a charming, eco-friendly structure that blends seamlessly with nature.
The rehabilitation of the CT and Outdoor shower was started with the Bittersweet Program in Jamaica through the PDC Program where students applied thick paste plaster made of clay, sand and fiber (coco coir) to level and smoothen walls in preparation for a finishing lime plaster. Continued work was done through volunteering where participants cobbed and plastered and painted the structure using natural paints made from clay, lime, cactus, sand and linseed oil. Where the flooring needed repairs, cob was used to compact and create an even filling.
This setup is sustainable, durable, and offers a connection to nature creating a functional, beautiful, and environmentally conscious structure that aligns with sustainable living principles.
