About

Established in 1982 by Tacuma and Akilah Jaramogi, the Fondes Amandes Community Reforestation Project (FACRP) is a community-based NGO located in the Fondes Amandes Hills of St. Ann’s, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. FACRP was initiated to combat the annual threat of forest fires in the Fondes Amandes watershed. Over the years, it has evolved into a model of sustainable community forestry, focusing on environmental conservation, community empowerment, and cultural preservation
