These breadfruit flour spinners or dumplings are a great way to try breadfruit flour.
Ingredients:
Breadfruit flour 1/2 cup
Rolled oats 1/4 cup
Veggie broth or water 1/2 cup or more
Sea salt 1/4 tsp
Annatto sauce 1-2 tbsp (optional)
Directions:
Place flour, oats and salt into a bowl .
Gradually mix broth/water/sauce with dry ingredients. Form a soft dough. Add more oats or flour as needed. Let sit 5 min.
When soup or stew is almost done, wet fingers and quickly shape tablespoons of dough into balls or spinners. Drop into simmering soup or stew.
Stir gently. Cook 5 minutes or until dumplings are firm and stew is thickened.
This recipe can be made with or without annatto but it added more colour and more nutrients to the recipe.
