Founded in 2021, CRCD is a Puerto Rican 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to on-the-ground regeneration of natural resources and community well-being. Its mission is to empower disadvantaged communities and underserved landowners by improving soil quality, expanding regenerative agricultural practices, increasing food security, and conserving ecosystems. Major project areas include agroforestry plantations with native and timber species; soil improvement using biochar and other amendments; urban reforestation (20,000 trees in southwestern municipalities) through its U-TREE initiative; and supporting smallholder coffee and cacao farmers to transition to climate-smart practices under its Smart Ag PR project. CRCD engages in education, environmental assessments, partnerships with local governments, and empowering youth and local stakeholders.
